Music

Music plays a vital role in our worship services, and at Aldersgate we have a variety of ways to become involved in this special way of worship leading. Our traditional Wesleyan Choir and our CrossWalk praise band are made up of committed volunteers who meet weekly and lead our worship year-round. Our Celebration Bell choir, Children and Youth Choirs, as well as smaller vocal and instrumental groups, regularly add to the vibrancy of our worship services. All are invited and encouraged to participate in these groups, with most of them requiring little to no prior experience. If you are interested or have questions about any of these opportunities, call or email Adam Trouard.

Wesleyan Choir

Our traditional Wesleyan Choir meets Wednesday nights at 7pm, and sings weekly for our 8:30 Traditional service. They lead worship with hymns and responses, as well as weekly anthems. We sing all styles of music from classical to gospel and contemporary, Bach, Mozart and Mendelssohn to Martin, Rutter and Moses Hogan. We sing two major works a year, as well as for special services throughout the year. We come together to learn music, but are also fed by that music and its message, and by group prayer and fellowship. All are welcome to join in this group, no musical experience is necessary, just a heart to share your song.

Praise Band

Our CrossWalk praise band meets on Thursday evenings at 7. We prepare weekly worship for our 11 am contemporary service. We play the music of today’s contemporary Christian artists like David Crowder, Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, Kari Jobe, as well as other contemporary favorites. We have a passion for contemporary worship leading and welcome anyone with a shared passion. Previous experience or instrumental ability is helpful, but not always necessary.

Handbell Music

The Celebration Bell choir meets on Wednesdays at 6:45pm. We play in worship regularly and join with other choirs for special works and services throughout the church year. COOLhandbells(3rd-6th grades) rehearse on Wednesday afternoon @5:45-6:30pm during the school year. Reflections Bells(youth 7th-12th grades) practice on Sunday Evenings from 4:30-5:30pm. Phyllis Mitchell is the director of this ministry.

Special Music

There are multiple opportunities for soloists (vocal or instrumental) or ensembles to providespecial music in the 8:30 and 11:00 worship services.

Worship Media Ministry

Our Media Ministry is an important tool in leading of worship. Using current trends in computer, audio, and video software and technology, this ministry enhances our corporate worship experience.
